Miami Head Coach Katie Meier is "Kickin' Cancer"

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami head women’s basketball coach Katie Meier will be participating in “Kickin’ Cancer” by wearing custom designed shoes to raise breast cancer awareness and proceeds for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
These shoes were worn on the road at UNC on Sunday and will be worn on the road at Boston College on Thursday, February 17 and at the Hurricanes’ PinkZone game versus Wake Forest at home on Feb. 21.
Fans will have chance to own Meier’s one-of-a-kind shoes by bidding on them during an online auction at HurricaneSports.com beginning Feb. 14-25. Meier has committed to matching the winning bid and all proceeds will benefit the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
The shoes are a men’s size 10.5, Nike Air Force Ones and were designed by artist Tina Mullen from Gainesville, Fla. Select coaches from around the country – including LSU’s Van Chancellor, Oklahoma’s Sherri Coale, Florida’s Amanda Butler, Kentucky’s Matthew Mitchell and North Carolina’s Sylvia Hatchell – are participating in this event.
