Hurricanes to Compete in Jack Kramer Collegiate Invitational

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s tennis team will continue its fall schedule with a trip to Rolling Hills, Calif. for the inaugural Jack Kramer Club Women’s Collegiate Invitational beginning Friday, Oct. 28.
The Hurricanes are one of seven teams competing in the tournament. The other teams participating in the event are: UCLA, USC, Pepperdine, Loyola-Marymount, Baylor and Mississippi State.
The event, which will be held at the Jack Kramer Tennis Club complex, will consist of a singles main draw and consolation draw, as well as a doubles main draw and consolation draw. The tournament is expected to feature 22 players total, including the Hurricanes’ Anna Bartenstein, Melissa Bolivar, Brittany Dubins and Gabriela Mejia.
Bartenstein, who was ranked #25 in the preseason ITA poll, earned the #1-seed in the singles main draw and received a first-round bye. The senior from Graz, Austria boasts a 14-4 record heading into the team’s fifth tournament of the fall. Olivar and Dubins will also compete in the singles draw.
The fifth-seeded doubles combination of Bartenstein and Mejia will face Miya Jin and Tory Parravi of Loyola-Marymount at 5:00pm Friday. The other doubles team, consisting of Dubins and Olivar, will square off against Ekaterina Lakoleva and Olesya Tsigvintseva of Mississippi State at 3:00pm.
