Howarth Earns Soccer America Women's Player of the Week Honor

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Miami junior Kate Howarth added her fourth national and fifth overall, honor for her performance from Oct. 10 through Oct. 16. The forward from Grand Blanc, Mich. was today named Soccer America Women’s Player of the Week.
Howarth made two key assists in a 3-2 victory over fourth-ranked Boston College last Thursday, including the assist on Jordan Roseboro’s game-winning goal in the 75th minute.
Her success continued in a victory over 10th-ranked Maryland on Sunday. Howarth scored both goals in the 2-1 game, including the game winner in the 62nd minute.
The junior forward leads Miami in scoring this season with nine goals and six assists. She is also tied for fourth among ACC players in scoring with 24 points. The Hurricanes, aiming to earn a spot in the ACC Championship, will be on the road for their final two regular season games, facing Florida State on Oct. 23 and Virginia on Oct. 27.
Howarth has also been named Disney Soccer/NSCAA National Player of the Week, SoccerSavings.com/Soccer News Net Women’s College Player of the Week, CollegeSoccer360.com’s National Primetime Player of the Week and ACC Player of the Week.
