CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Miami junior Kate Howarth has earned two more national weekly awards for her stellar performance last week. The forward has been named Disney Soccer/NSCAA National Player of the Week and SoccerSavings.com/Soccer News Net Women’s College Player of the Week.

Howarth made two key assists in a 3-2 upset of fourth-ranked Boston College last Thursday, including the assist on Jordan Roseboro’s game-winning goal in the 75th minute.

She continued her success on Sunday with both of Miami’s goals in a 2-1 victory over 10th-ranked Maryland. The forward from Grand Blanc, Mich. scored her second goal to break a 1-1 tie in the 62nd minute.

Howarth leads Miami in scoring this season with nine goals and six assists and is tied for fourth among ACC players in scoring with 24 points. The Hurricanes, bidding to nail down a spot in the upcoming ACC Championship, will be on the road for their final two regular season games, facing Florida State on Oct. 23 and Virginia on Oct. 27.

This makes four awards in the past few days for Howarth as she was also named CollegeSoccer360.com’s National Primetime Player of the week and ACC Player of the Week.
