Jim Larranaga to Appear on Andy Katz's Coaches Corner

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Miami head basketball coach Jim Larranaga will make an appearance on ESPNU’s Coaches Corner with Andy Katz at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 16.

After putting together a stellar resume at George Mason, Larranaga takes over a Hurricane program that has been selected by some publications to finish as high as fourth in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

In 2006, the enthusiastic leader led the Patriots to the Final Four and just this past season, his squad finished with a 27-7 record and a win over Villanova in the NCAA Tournament.

Sure to be among the topics touched on with Katz will be how the Canes plan to open their non-conference schedule without the services of center Reggie Johnson, who is recovering from a torn miniscus. Another topic will likely be Miami’s talented backcourt duo of senior Malcolm Grant and junior Durand Scott.

Also appearing on the Aug. 16 show will be Kevin Stallings (Vanderbilt), Andy Kennedy (Ole Miss), John Beilein (Michigan), Jamie Dixon (Pitt) and Mitch Henderson (Princeton).
