Ronderos and Arana Lead Miami in Second Round on Saturday

ORANGE PARK, Fla. – Senior Maria Ronderos and junior Patricia Arana each shot a one-over par 73 on Saturday to lead the Hurricanes in the second round of the JMU Eagle Landing Invitational. As a team, the ‘Canes shot a 298, good for a tie for fourth place with one round to go from Eagle Landing Golf Club.

No. 34 Chattanooga (+5) leads the tournament overall through two rounds.

Ronderos played a consistent round on Saturday, with 14 pars, two birdies and two bogeys on her way to a 73. Overall, she sits in a tie for 10th place amongst individuals. The senior has placed in the top-10 in her last five events.

Arana came on strong in the second round, also carding a 73. She recorded four birdies on the day and is in a tie for 23rd place. There are 98 golfers competing in this event.

Senior Christina Hirano backed up her 73 in the first round with a 76 on Saturday. She recorded 14 pars to move into to a tie for 16th position.

Freshman Carina Cuculiza put in three birdies on the day to also score a 76, while junior Diana Fisher shot an 84.

Miami will look to finish strong in the third and final round of the tournament on Sunday. Fisher will start at 8:40 a.m., with the rest of the team to follow in intervals in groups with golfers from Illinois and USF.
