Men's Tennis Hosts No. 16 Georgia Tech Sunday

CORAL GABLES, FLA. – The No. 32 University of Miami men’s tennis team plays host to 16th-ranked Georgia Tech in its ACC home opener on Sun., March 13, at 1 p.m. at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center on campus. Sunday’s match marks the first of five-straight home matches for the Hurricanes.
Miami (7-3, 1-0) rides a four-match win streak into Sunday’s competition and has three players who have won four-straight singles matches – Keith Crowley (8-4, 1-0), Gabriel Flores (12-10, 1-0) and Eduardo Pavia (14-7, 1-0). All three earned points for Miami in its 4-3 win over then-No. 28 Florida State in the ACC opener for both teams on Feb. 26 in Tallahassee.
Georgia Tech is also on a roll and arrives in Coral Gables on an eight-match win streak. The No. 16 Yellow Jackets (10-1, 1-0) won the last meeting between the squads, a 4-3 decision in Atlanta last season, however the Hurricanes won the four previous matches. Georgia Tech is led by 16th-ranked All-American Guillermo Gomez and No. 50 Juan Spir. In addition, the Yellow Jackets have a ranked duo in No. 15 Spir and Kevin King.
