Miami-Ohio State Contest to be Televised in 3-D on ESPN

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami football team’s Sept. 11 game at Ohio State has been selected as one of three regular season ACC games slated to be shown in 3-D, ESPN announced Thursday.

The contest, which will be shown live on ESPN at 3:40 p.m. from Ohio Stadium in Columbus, will be the first meeting between the two schools since the Buckeyes defeated the Hurricanes, 31-24, in double overtime of the 2002 National Championship game in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.

The first three-dimensional ACC game this fall is scheduled for the Virginia Tech-Boise State match-up on Labor Day Monday Night at FedEx Field in Landover, Md. The Miami-Ohio State contest will mark the second 3-D game, before Clemson travels to Auburn on Saturday, Sept. 18 for the third ACC 3-D gridiron contest featuring an ACC school on ESPN.

In all, ESPN has announced that four ACC games will be televised in 3-D as the 6th Annual Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game, which will be held this year at Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium on Dec. 4 (7:45 p.m.), is also scheduled to be televised by ESPN in 3-D.
