Season Ticket Prices Announced for 2010 Football Season
Feb. 10, 2010
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami athletics department announced today that there will be no increase in football season ticket prices for the 2010 season, the third year in a row with no change. Also announced was the reduction of prices in more than 40 sections at Sun Life Stadium as well as a payment plan that will allow fans to pay in installments rather than a lump sum.
In an effort to provide a more affordable option to Hurricanes fans, the decision was made to reduce the price of the lower level east end zone to $199 per seat, from the previous price of $385, a savings of $186.
“Our fans enjoyed the affordable nature of the lower level west end zone seats at the Orange Bowl which were priced at $190,” Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt said. “The West End Zone Crew was a loud and loyal fan base and by bringing the price down to $199 in the lower level, we are excited to welcome back that same atmosphere with the East End Zone Crew. With this new affordable price, we have listened to our fan base and anticipate selling out these seats long before the season starts.”
In addition, the Hurricanes announced the reduction of prices in nearly all of the upper level sections of the stadium. Over 80 percent of the upper level seats are now priced at $199 or less, including approximately 17,000 seats at $149 or less. In total, 60 percent of the entire lower and upper bowls will now be priced no higher than $199 per season ticket.
“We have tried to offer pricing that makes Hurricanes football accessible to all of our loyal fans”, Hocutt stated. “With the new payment plan option, we have tried to make purchasing season tickets as convenient as possible.”
The 2010 home schedule features ACC rivals Florida State, Virginia Tech, North Carolina and Maryland along with two in-state matchups against South Florida and Florida A&M.
