CORAL GABLES – The University of Miami women’s basketball team will travel to Chestnut Hill, Mass. to take on the Boston College Eagles at the Silvio O. Conte Forum, Sunday at 2 p.m.

Miami heads to Boston College with a 10-7 overall record and an 0-3 conference record. In two of their three ACC losses, the Hurricanes held on to halftime leads and against Duke they trailed by only two points going into the break. Miami will look to carry its first-half momentum into the second period in Chestnut Hill. I In their last game against Georgia Tech, the Hurricanes were led by Diane Barnes (11 points) and Shenise Johnson (six points, five assists and eight steals). Johnson leads the team in points (12.4), rebounds (7.2), assists (4.1), steals (3.4), blocks (1.2) and minutes (30.4).

A Look at Boston College
Boston College enters Sunday’s game with a 13-4 record and has beaten Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech in conference play.

The Eagles are led by Carolyn Swords who is averaging 14.8 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. Mickel Picco and Stefanie Murphy score 17.6 and 10.5 points per game respectively.

Boston College is averaging 72.9 points and 42.8 rebounds per game as a team. It is shooting 44.8 percent (484-1081) from the floor, 33.9 percent (80-236) from beyond the arc and 66.6 (191-287) from the free throw line. The Eagles also register 8.1 steals and 3.9 blocked shots per outing, while holding their opponents to 63.9 points per game and a shooting percentage of 38.8 (388-999).

The Hurricanes hold an all-time series edge over the Eagles, 17-12. However, Boston College has won the last three match-ups, including two during the 2007-08 season. In the last meeting, BC won 63-52 in Chestnut Hill.
