Miami and Minnesota Men's Basketball to Face Off on ESPNU

CORAL GABLES, FLA. – The University of Miami men’s basketball team will play host to Minnesota in the 2009 Big Ten/ACC Challenge on Wed., Dec. 2, at 7:15 p.m. at the BankUnited Center. The game will be broadcast live on ESPNU.

All 11 matches will be broadcast on ESPN’s family of networks. The Miami-Minnesota game will kick off five games on the Challenge’s third and final day, as the two leagues battle for conference supremacy for the 11th season.

The ACC has won the Commissioner’s Cup in all 10 previous years.

The 2009-10 season will mark the fourth time that Miami will be participating in the Challenge – and the second-straight season at home – with appearances in 2005, 2006 and 2008. Minnesota has played in all 10 previous Challenges, defeating Virginia on the road last season. It will be the first meeting between the Hurricanes and the Gophers.
