Williams Wraps-Up US Championships With Sixth-Place Finish

EUGENE, Ore. – Former University of Miami Hurricane Lauryn Williams advanced through the 200-meter dash semifinal, Sunday at the USA Track and Field Championships at the University of Oregon’s Hayward Field. However, she finished sixth in the final, ending her chance to compete in the event at the World Championships in August.

William cruised in the semifinal with a time of 22.54 seconds, but ran a 22.64 second time in the finals, three spots from qualifying for the World Championships.

Thursday evening, Williams finished third in the 100-meter dash final and will represent the United States in Berlin, August 15-23, in both the 100-meters and as a member of the 4×100 relay.
