Miami Signee to Play in Jordan Brand Classic

CORAL GABLES, FLA. – University of Miami men’s basketball signee Durand Scott has been selected to the 2009 Jordan Brand All-American Team and will participate in the Jordan Brand Classic High School Boys All-Star Game on Saturday, April 18, at Madison Square Garden at 8 p.m. on ESPN2.

A 6-5 shooting guard from New York City, Scott is among 24 of the nation’s best high school senior basketball players invited to the event and will play on the “Away Team” in the black jerseys. The Jordan Brand Classic will also include an international game at 3:30 p.m. and a regional game at 5:30 p.m., followed by the All-American Game. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the New York City-based charity, the Children’s Aid Society.

Scott signed with the Hurricanes in November and has since led Rice High School to the State Federation Class AA championship, earning tournament MVP honors after scoring 23 points in the title game – including a three-pointer with 14.5 seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime.
