CORAL GABLES – University of Miami women’s basketball signee Morgan Stroman has been named to the eighth annual McDonald’s High School All-America Team. The McDonald’s All-America Game will be played at UM’s own BankUnited Center on April 1.

Stroman becomes the third incoming freshman to be named to the McDonald’s All-America Team, joining former Hurricane great, Tamara James and this year’s freshman phenom Shenise Johnson.

The McDonald’s All-American selection committee takes academic and other off-court accolades into account when choosing candidates.

Stroman is the two-time Gatorade Player of the Year in South Carolina and has led her Lower Richland High team to three straight state championships, and is currently leading her team through the state playoffs this season.

Stroman (Hopkins, S.C.) joins Hannah Shaw (Nottingham, England) and Anisha Wilson (New Haven, Conn.) on the 30th ranked incoming class.
