Miami Heads to Highly-Touted Texas A&M Invitational

CORAL GABLES – The University of Miami track and field team, with a No. 22 ranking on the women’s side, is set for the Texas A&M Invitational at the Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium at the McFerrin Athletic Center in College Station, Texas. With 11 ranked programs in attendance, the meet will take place Feb. 13-14.

Fresh off her second ACC Performer of the Week nod, senior Murielle will appear in three events this weekend. The Bristow, Va. native will bring her No. 1 ranked time in the World and top collegiate time to the 60 and the 200-meter dashes respectively. Ahoure is also scheduled to run in the 4×400 relay.

Sophomore Ti’erra Brown won the 60-meter hurdles a week ago at the Virginia Tech Invitational, she will look to make it two straight wins this weekend. She will also be competing in the 400-meters and the 4×400 relay.

High jumper Megan Novinger set am indoor career-high just a week ago with a leap of 1.70m, she will attempt to push her personal record even higher in college station.

Junior Deandra Doyley and freshman Brittni Finch will like to follow-up on their impressive performance in both the long and triple jumps.

On the men’s side, junior Mikese Morse carries the Atlantic Coast Conference’s top-ranked long jump mark and No.4 triple jump ranking into the Lone Star State.

A quartet of sprinters will be on display for the Hurricanes. Led by freshman Travis Benjamin; Davon Johnson, Brandon Harris and DeMarcus Van Dyke will attempt to improve on their season best times.

Junior Cory Nelms and his ACC-best 60-meter hurdle time of 8.01 seconds are on tap as well. Devon Hill will also run in the event.

Texas A&M will also host the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships next month.
