Miami started a new winning streak in Orlando, picking up a 66-59 victory over UCF, for its second straight. In only her second game back from a leg injury, Epiphany Woodson was a huge contributor in the win as she scored 13 points, including a huge contested layup to put the Hurricanes up by five in the game’s final minute.
Freshman Shenise Johnson led all Hurricanes with 15 points, five of which came at the free-throw line. Miami had struggled from the charity stripe all season, but its success from it against UCF was a huge contribution to the victory. In all, the Hurricanes went 16 of 21 from the foul line.
Junior Ashley Sours played a hard 11 minutes as she collected five rebounds and just her presence alone on the defensive end was enough to alter many UCF shots. Freshman Sylvia Bullock brought her intensity to the court as well as she had seven points and three block in the contest
