CORAL GABLES – The University of Miami women’s basketball team has moved up its start time for a match-up against Florida A&M to 6 p.m., Monday evening at the BankUnited Center.

Miami has won three straight games for the first time since 2006 and they will be vying for their fourth straight against a very athletic Florida A&M squad that has gotten off to a fast 3-1 start. The Hurricanes haven’t won four straight since the 2005-06 season.Shenise Johnson has been Miami’s most impressive player, as the freshman already has recorded three double-double on the season and just recently took home the UM Thanksgiving Tournament MVP honors for her performance against Austin Peay and Santa Clara this past weekend.

A Look at Florida A&MFlorida A&M features a duo that is averaging double-digits in points per game; Deidra Jones (13.8) and Stephanie Foster (12.8). First year head coach LaDawn Gibson has guided her team to an impressive 3-1 start and will face the Hurricanes in the Rattlers first match-up of the season against an ACC opponent. Later this season, FAMU will face Georgia Tech.

The SeriesIts been 17 seasons since the Hurricanes and Rattlers have met on the court and when they were playing consistnatly year in and year out, the series has been even. Miami holds a slight 10-9 all-time advantage against the in-state squad. UM won the last meeting 73-44 in 1991.
