Robinson, Bosher Earn ACC Weekly Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. – University of Miami football players Marcus Robinson and Matt Bosher have earned Atlantic Coast Conference weekly honors announced by the league office Monday.

Robinson, a true freshman from Homestead, Fla., earned Defensive Lineman of the Week honors. He led a Miami defense that held Virginia Tech to 77 yards rushing on Thursday night. He recorded a career-best three sacks in his second career start and finished the game with a team-high seven tackles which included four tackles for loss. He had a sack just before halftime which knocked Virginia Tech out of good field position and resulted in a missed 51-yard field goal. He added two sacks in the third quarter as Virginia Tech had minus-11 yards of total offense in the quarter.

Bosher, a native of Jupiter, Fla., was chosen ACC Specialist of the Week. He averaged 42.0 yards on five punts, which included a long of 45 yards in Miami’s 16-14 win over Virginia Tech on Thursday night. The Lou Groza Award semifinalist also was a perfect 3-for-3 on field goals. He made kicks from 21 yards, 31 yards and 23 yards. His 23-yarder with 11:58 left in the fourth was the eventual game-winner. He is now 16-of-18 in field goal attempts this season.

Maryland offensive lineman Edwin Williams, Clemson running back C.J. Spiller, Boston College defensive back Marcellus Bowman and NC State quarterback Russell Wilson were the other ACC weekly honorees.
