Brown Named ACC Performer of the Week

CORAL GABLES, <?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>Fla. – University of Miami Freshman Ti’erra Brown has been selected as the ACC Outdoor Track and Field Co-Performer of the Week. She shares the honor with Virginia’s discus thrower Billie-Jo Grant.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>
Brown for the second consecutive week has ran the nation’s top fastest time in the 400-meter hurdles. Last week she ran the event in a time of 58.43 only to better that at the Hurricane Challenge at 58.08. The Hampton, Va. native also competed in the 100-meter hurdles and the 4×400-meter relay, qualifying for the NCAA Regional in each event.
The University of Miami’s women’s track team returns to action this weekend at the Florida Relays before returning to Coral Gables April 12 for the Miami Elite Invitational.
