UM Women's Tennis To Host Youth Day Sunday

March 26, 2008

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The 14th-ranked University of Miami women’s tennis team is set to host its final regular season home series this weekend and Sunday’s match against No. 12 North Carolina, in addition to being the final regular season home match for three Hurricanes, has been tabbed “Youth Day” at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.

The match against the Tar Heels — slated for 12 p.m. — will feature a free tennis demonstration by the UM women’s tennis team for all kids in the eighth grade and under at the conclusion of the match. In addition, free pizza and 2008 women’s tennis posters will be available for all who attend.

The same group of kids will also have the chance to enter a drawing to win a week of tennis camp with Miami head coach Paige Yaroshuk-Tews. Select kids will also be chosen to participate in promotions between doubles and singles play and Sebastian the Ibis will be on hand for photo opportunities during the match.

UM’s three seniors – Caren Seenauth, Romy Farah and Gina Sabatino – will also be honored prior to the group’s final regular season home match as Hurricanes.

Winners of the tennis camp raffle will be announced at the end of the match and those selected must be present to win.

Prior to Sunday’s match against UNC, the `Canes will host No. 6 Duke Friday night at 6 p.m.

All matches at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center are free to the public. For more information on UM’s “Youth Day”, call (305) 284-2943.
