March 24, 2008
Coral Gables, FLA (www.hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami football team returns to the Greentree Practice Fields Tuesday to begin the last week of spring practice. The Hurricanes will host BankUnited CanesFest Saturday at Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.
Gates at Lockhart Stadium (5201 NW 12th Avenue) will open to fans at 9 a.m. In a change from years’ past, the team autograph session is scheduled to take place before the spring game from 9:15 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. The Spring Game, which will be offense versus defense, is slated for 10 a.m. Fans will have an opportunity to renew existing and purchase new season tickets. Parking and admission are free.
Miami held a closed scrimmage last Saturday in which UM ran more than 100 plays and practiced for nearly 2 ½ hours. The Hurricanes have already completed 11 of their 14 scheduled practices.
Three more practices are on tap for this week. UM will practice Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday before holding its annual spring game Saturday. Practices are closed to the public.
