Nazario Takes Javelin Crown at Hurricane Invitational

CORAL GABLES – The <?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>University of Miami’s Kaitlin Nazario won the javelin throw in the second day of competition at the Hurricane Invitational at Cobb Stadium. The senior from Dover, N.J. recorded the second longest throw in UM history fall short of her own record at 43.45m.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>
Viktoria Andonova placed second in the high jump, with a leap of 1.75m. The junior out of Coral Springs, Fla. is a week removed from competing in the NCAA Indoor Championships. She also is the two-time ACC Indoor Champion in the event.
The third and final day of the Hurricane Invitational will take place tomorrow with the field events getting started at 11 a.m., while the running events begin with the 4x100m relay at 1 p.m.
