ATLANTA, Ga. – Brittany Viola and Reuben Ross swept all six diving events, Maggie Ravenna finished fourth in the 200-yard backstroke event and Annika Saarnak and Britta Boesing each recorded top-eight finishes in the 100-yard freestyle event to highlight the University of Miami swimming and diving team’s final day at the Georgia Tech Invitational at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center Sunday.

Ross and teammate J.J. Kinzbach finished first and second in the men’s platform event, scoring 377.45 and 346.15 respectively while Viola won the women’s three-meter event with a score of 308.70 and the women’s platform with a mark of 263.00.

On the swimming side, Saarnak placed fifth in the 100-yard freestyle event in a time of 51.16 while Boesing placed eighth with a mark of 51.69. Ravenna, after a sixth place finish in the prelims of the 200-yard backstroke, Ravenna finished fourth in the finals with a time of 2:03.59.

Miami’s women tallied 422 points at the meet for a fifth-place finish, just missing out on a fourth-place ranking in finishing just a half a point behind Duke.

Ryann Labreche also had a big day for the Hurricanes, recording a fifth-place finish in the 1650-yard freestyle finals, coming in at 17:09.31.

In the women’s 400-yard freestyle relay event, UM’s team of Boessing, Saarnak, Emerson Davis and Kirsten Pomerleau finished third behind teams from LSU and Florida State with a time of 3:26.79. Miami’s 800-yard freestyle relay team of Labreche, Saarnak, Davis and Boesing came in seventh in the finals with a mark of 7:36.03.

Capria DeVenuto had the team’s top time in the 200-yard butterfly finals, finished 13th in a time of 2:09.47 after coming in with the 11th-fastest time in the prelims. In the 200-yard breaststroke event, Kelly Peloquin and Tina Rau finished 14th and 15th times of 2:26.84 and 2:26.99 respectively.
