Kinzbach enjoyed a stellar freshman year, and is eagerly awaiting the start of his sophomore season … Tabbed an All-Atlantic Coast Conference performer as a freshman for the Hurricanes (1-meter and platform) … Picked up two wins as a freshman, including the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Championship in the 10-meter platform–the first platform championship in ACC history … Registered a score of 429.50 in the finals of the platform at the ACC Championships … Placed first in the NCAA Zone “B” Championships with a season-best score of 857.30 … Finished second at the Georgia Tech Fall Invitational where he tallied a score of 346.15 … Finished eighth overall (366.05) in his first-ever NCAA Finals appearance … Also collected a seventh place finish in the NCAA Championships on the 3-meter springboard with a score of 274.95 … Finished fourth at the NCAA Zone “B” Championships where he posted a season-best mark of 362.50 for the 3-meter springboard … Collected a fifth place score in a tri-meet with Florida State and Florida A&M with a mark of 274.90 … Collected three top five scores in the 1-meter springboard event throughout the year … Had his highest score at the ACC Championships with a 364.35, allowing him to place second overall … He had to claw back in the finals after posting just a 299.95 in the preliminary rounds, leaving him sixth after the first round of competition … Picked up back-to-back third place performances against FSU/FAMU and in the Georgia Tech Fall Invitational … Scored a mark of o338.55 against FSU/FAMU while bouncing back for a score of 356.15 at the GT Fall Invite.
