HURRICANES CONCLUDE BYE WEEK PRACTICE

Oct. 24, 2007

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – – The Miami Hurricanes football team practiced Wednesday afternoon at the Greentree Practice Fields for the final time this week. The Hurricanes have a bye week and will take the next three days off.

“We did the same things as yesterday,” UM head coach Randy Shannon said. “We had a lot of one-on-one individual technique work — getting after the O-Line, D-Line, linebackers, tight ends, fullbacks, receivers and DBs. It wasn’t a short practice. We just went at a fast pace today. We had blitz drills, 7-on-7, team and goal-line situations. It was ones against ones, line up and play, which was good.”

Shannon said senior wide receiver Lance Leggett continued to practice well. “If we had had a game this weekend, he’d have played,” Shannon said.

For the second straight day, NFL scouts took in a Hurricanes practice. Eight NFL scouts were present at Wednesday’s practice.

Miami will host North Carolina State on Nov. 3 at the Orange Bowl in the second-to-last game in the historic building. The NC State game will be televised live by ESPNU.

The Hurricanes will not practice again until Sunday afternoon, which is a light workout that is closed to the media.
