Seward Earns All-America Honors at NCAA Championships

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Senior Amy Seward of the University of Miami women’s track and field team earned All-America honors with a seventh place finish in the long jump Thursday at the 2007 NCAA Outdoor Championships held at Sacramento State’s Hornet Stadium.
Seward hit a mark of 21-00.50 feet (6.41m) to finish seventh overall during Thursday’s finals of the long jump to garner All-America honors.
Classmate Brenda Faluade finished 10th with a mark of 20-00.25 feet (6.10m).
Also in action Thursday was sophomore Krista Simkins who finished 16th in the semifinals of the 200-meters with a time of 23.50 seconds.
The UM 4×400-meter relay team of freshman Kristy Whyte, senior Ginou Etienne, sophomore Ena Leufroy and Simkins finished 12th in the prelims with the time 3:34.28.
