Lane Recognized as Top Assistant Coach by USTFCCCA

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami assistant track and field coach Todd Lane has been honored as one of the top Division I assistant coaches by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
As voted on by regional coaches, the USTFCCCA recognizes the top assistant coaches in four regions in each respective specialty including sprints/hurdles, distances, jumps/combined events and throws.
Lane, who is in his first season at UM was honored as the top jumps and combined events assistant coach in women’s track and field this season.
“This honor is a testament to the type of coach Todd Lane is,” said head women’s track and field coach Amy Deem. “His dedication and commitment to making this program successful goes above and beyond all expectations and we are extremely fortunate to have him as part of our staff.”
Lane helped lead seniors Brenda Faluade and Amy Seward to ACC Indoor and Outdoor Field Performer of the Year honors, respectively. Under his guidance, Faluade, who will compete in the long jump and the triple jump at this year’s NCAA Outdoor Championships, established a new UM record in the long jump with a mark of 21-feet, five inches. Seward recently won the ACC Outdoor Championship in the heptathlon and finished third in the long jump. She will also head to the NCAA Championships after finishing first in the long jump at the NCAA East Regional May 25.- 30 –
