The Hurricane women’s team, ranked eighth nationally by Trackwire.com and 13th by the US Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, will look to follow up on an impressive showing at last year’s Penn Relays which saw Miami take three first-place finishes.
Returning from last year’s 4×400-meter relay team that finished first with a time of 3:27.85 is senior Ginou Etienne and sophomore Krista Simkins. Etienne and Simkins have paired up with freshman Kristy Whyte and sophomore Ena Leufroy this season to form a relay quartet that currently holds the nation’s fourth-fastest time (3:32.67).
Coming off an impressive showing at last weekend’s ACC Outdoor Championships which saw her take the ACC title in the discuss, junior Khadija Talley will compete in the discus and the shot put at this year’s Penn Relays.
