Deem Named Team USA Coach at 2007 World Championships

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami head women’s track and field coach Amy Deem will serve as the head women’s coach for Team USA at the 2007 IAAF World Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Osaka, Japan as recently announced by USA Track & Field.
Deem is currently in her 17th season at UM where she has helped lead the Hurricanes to 12 conference championships while guiding 35 student-athletes to a combined 128 All-America honors and 10 individual national championships.
“This is a great honor,” said Deem. “To say that I feel extremely privileged to be given the opportunity to work with such an amazing group of athletes and help represent our country would be an understatement.”
Deem was honored as the USA Track and Field Florida Coach of the Year and in 2002 she was named the U.S. Olympic Committee Developmental Coach of the Year. She also served as the head coach for the USATF Junior National Team in England and Scotland in 2001 and served as the sprints/hurdles coach during the 2003 Pan Am Games.
