Women's Track and Field Ranked 14th in Latest Coaches Poll

CORAL GABLES, Fla. –

Coming off an impressive outing at last weekend’s Pepsi Florida Relays, the <?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>University of Miami women’s track and field team sits at No. 14 nationally in the first poll of the outdoor season by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>

 

Led by senior Brenda Faluade, who has the third-highest mark in the triple jump (13.16m) and the fourth-highest mark in the long jump (6.53m) in the country, Miami is in current preparations for this Saturday’s Miami Elite Invitational – a one-day event at UM’s Cobb Stadium featuring competitors from Florida, Florida International, Florida Atlantic, Florida A&M, Texas A&M, South Florida, Florida Memorial, SUNY-Albany, Jacksonville and Tulane.

 

Admission to Saturday’s Miami Elite Invitational is $5 dollars for adults and $3 dollars for children and senior citizens.
