Faluade Named ACC Performer of the Week

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami senior Brenda Faluade has been named the ACC Outdoor Track and Field Performer of the Week for her efforts at last weekend’s Pepsi Florida Relays, which included a school record breaking performance in the long jump, announced Monday by league offices.

Faluade, a native of Katy, Texas, won the long jump Friday with a UM record setting mark of 21 feet, five inches (6.53m). In addition, Faluade also placed second in the triple jump Saturday with a NCAA Regional qualifying mark of 43 feet, two inches (13.16m).

Faluade and the Hurricanes return to action Saturday, hosting the 2007 Miami Elite Invitational at Cobb Stadium.
