Miami returns to the court following Thursday’s 78-71 loss at Virginia Tech. Despite a late rally, including a career-high 28 points and five three-pointers from junior Maurita Reid, the Hurricanes fell short in Blacksburg.

Reid has continued to step up as the Hurricanes head deeper into ACC play, averaging a team-high 15.7 points per game versus league opponents. For the season, she is averaging 14.4 points and team highs of 3.2 steals (second in the ACC) and 6.0 rebounds per game. Reid is second on the team with 2.0 three-pointers per game at a 38.5 percent clip.

Senior Renee Taylor continues to lead Miami with her ACC-best 19.4 points per game and 85.8 percent free-throw shooting. She also averages a team-high 2.1 treys per game and was integral in the Hurricanes second-half rally versus the Hokies, finishing with 17 points and five boards. The 5-2 guard has scored in double figures in 19 of 21 games this season.

A Look at Clemson
The Tigers come off Thursday’s 76-62 home loss to No. 3/3 Maryland and ride a five-game slide into Coral Gables for their first of three straight road games. Junior D’Lesha Lloyd leads Clemson with 14.8 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, while junior Tasha Taylor (12.4 ppg) and freshman Lele Hardy (10.8 ppg) also add double-figure scoring for the Tigers.

The Series
Sunday’s game will mark the fifth meeting between Clemson and Miami, with the series knotted at 2-2. The Hurricanes have won both meetings since joining the ACC, including a 74-52 road win over the Tigers on January 12, 2006. Taylor and LaToya Cunningham each had eight points in the victory, while Taylor grabbed five steals. Sunday’s game will feature the ACC’s top-two leaders in steals in Clemson’s Hardy (3.4/game) and Miami’s Reid (3.2/game).
