4x400 Meter Relay Wins at Penn Relays

Philadelphia, Pa. (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami women’s 4×400 meter relay won at Penn Relays this afternoon. The quartet of Krista Simkins (Wissahickon, Pa.), Ginou Etienne (Miami, Fla.), Charlette Greggs (Miami, Fla.) and Dominique Darden (Harrisburg, Pa.) ran 3:27.85 to claim first place.

The time is the second best in the world this outdoor season and is the second fastest ever run at Penn Relays. The time is also a new school record and ACC Conference record. It is the second time this second the Hurricanes have broken the ACC and school records.

Simkins split 55.1, Etienne 50.7, Greggs 51.2 and Darden in holding off the runners from LSU and Auburn split 50.9. The two teams finished .08 seconds and .11 seconds behind respectively.

The Hurricanes next compete at the Reebok Invitational at Atlanta, Ga. held on May 12-13.
