Greggs Named Athlete of the Week for Women's Track and Field

(hurricanesports.com) – Senior All-American was named the ACC performer of the week in women’s track and field.  Greggs was honored as a result of her first place performance and her top collegiate finish in the Miami Elite Invitational in Coral Gables, Fla. this past weekend.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>

Greggs won the women’s 400m crossing the finish line in a time of 51.97, the second fastest time in the NCAA and third fastest by an American this season.  The Miami, Fla., product also finished as the top collegiate finisher in the 200m finishing just .07 behind world champion Lauryn Williams.  Both marks are NCAA Regional qualifying times.

The honor is the second Greggs this season and the fourth for the Hurricanes this outdoor season. Greggs, along with the rest of the Hurricanes, is next slated to compete in the ACC Championships held at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C.
