Ransom Named ACC Performer Of The Week

Coral Gables, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami senior All-American India Ransom (Largo, Md.) has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Performer of the Week.

Ransom racked up a pair of victories over the weekend at the Hurricane Invitational winning the women’s 100m dash while running the third leg on the first place 4x100m relay team.

The senior sprinter posted a conference-best and NCAA EastRegional qualifying time of 11.54 to finish first in the 100-meters. She also teamed with senior Dominique Darden (Harrisburg, Pa.), freshman Krista Simkins (Wissahickon, Pa.) and senior Charlette Greggs (Miami Northwestern) to win the 4x100m relay in a time of 44.15, meeting NCAA regional qualifying standards.
