Women's Track and Field to Compete at Tyson Invitational

<?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>Coral Gables, Fla. – The 16th-ranked University of Miami Women’s Track and Field team is traveling to Fayetteville, Ark. to compete in the Tyson Invitational Friday February 10-11, 2006 at the TysonTrackCenter.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>
The Tyson Invitation features some of the highest competition of the indoor season, as many of the top ranked teams will be sending their athletes. There is also a championship portion of the meet on Friday evening, in which some of the elite US athletes will be competing. This is the same track in which the NCAA Indoor National meet will be held.
Brenda Faluade, fresh off her victory at the Gator Invitational in the long jump, will be competing in that event again this weekend. Tabia Charles, two time winner in the triple jump this season, will compete in that event this weekend. Charles will also run in the 60 meter dash
Senior Dominique Darden and freshman Pavi’Elle James will both be competing in the 60 meter hurdler. Darden will also run the 200 meter dash.
