ON MORGAN STATE: Morgan State enters Saturday’s game with a 0-3 record following an eighth-place finish at the BCA Classic in Seattle, Wash. The Bears dropped games to Washington (118-51), UNC Greensboro (62-49) and Northern Arizona (71-51). The Bears were led by sophomore forward Andrew Lee who led the team in scoring averaging 12.7 points per game during the three-day tournament. He also pulled down 4.0 rebounds per contest to rank second on the team. Morgan State struggled offensively in Seattle shooting just 35.6 percent (63-177) from the field, including 24.1 percent (7-29) from three-point range, and averaged 26.3 turnovers per game. The Bears, however, did hit their free throws connecting on 72 percent (18-25) as a team.

THE SERIES: Miami and Morgan State will be meeting for the first time.

TV/RADIO: The Miami vs. Morgan State game is not being televised. The game will be broadcast on the Hurricane Radio Network, WQAM (560 AM). Joe Zagacki “The Voice of the Hurricanes” will call the action with Josh Darrow adding analysis. Brian London will serve as studio host. The game can also be heard on WVUM (90.5 FM), the University of Miami student radio network.

ON THE COACHES: Miami head coach Frank Haith is in his second season with the Hurricanes. With the Hurricanes’ win on Sunday, Haith improves his career coaching record to 18-14. Morgan State head coach Alfred Beard is in his sixth season with the Bears and 13th season overall. His record at Morgan State is 35-81 while his overall record is 86-147.

Bank of America Arena, Seattle, Wash. – Robert Hite and Guillermo Diaz each scored 17 points to lead the University of Miami to an 80-54 win over Wisconsin-Green Bay in the third-place game of the season-opening BCA Classic in Seattle, Wash.

Hite returned from a knee injury midway through the first half to score all of his points over the final 21:45. Diaz, a preseason All-ACC selection, connected on three of five three-pointers and was named to the BCA Classic All-Tournament team. Reserve Aswan Minatee led Wisconsin-Green Bay with 16 points.

Miami never trailed, jumping to a 14-3 lead 7:29 into the game. Hite connected twice from long range in the final 1:45 of the opening period to give Miami a 34-23 halftime lead. The Hurricanes then opened the second half with a 20-3 run that put the game away.

DIAZ NAMED TO ALL-TOUNAMENT TEAM: Guillermo Diaz was named to the All-Tournament team at the BCA Classic, November 13-15, in Seattle, Wash. Diaz averaged 16.0 points, 1.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game while shooting 15-31 (.484) from the field including 7-17 (.412) from three-point range. Diaz was also 11-12 (.917) from the line.

MIAMI vs. NON-CONFERENCE OPPONENTS: Since UM began conference play in 1991-92, the Hurricanes have compiled an 102-47 (.685) record against non-conference opponents, including a 71-16 (.816) mark at home. Miami is 2-1 against non-conference opponents last season.

MIAMI IN THE 2005-06 POLLS: The Hurricanes have received votes in both the AP and ESPN/USA Todat preseason polls. The Hurricanes received 16 votes in the AP poll placing them in a tie for 38th, and six votes in the USA Today/ESPN poll placing them 41st. Miami’s highest ranking ever came on March 1, 1960 when the Hurricanes jumped to No. 8 in the Associated Press poll. Miami’s highest ranking since the rebirth of the program in 1985 is ninth by the Associated Press on March 1, 1999. The Hurricanes highest ranking ever in the Coaches poll also came on March 1, 1999 (10th).

HITE REACHES 1,000: Rob Hite recorded 17 points against Virginia Tech last season to become the 27th player in UM history to score 1,000 career points. Hite currently ranks 17th on UM’s career scoring list with 1,202 career points. Miami’s all-time leading scorer is Rick Barry who recorded 2,298 points from 1962-65.

30 AND COUNTING: Miami guard Guillermo Diaz has scored in double-figures in 30 consecutive games. The streak is currently the longest in the ACC. Wake Forest’s Eric Williams is second having scored in double-figures in 19 straight games. Diaz’ streak is ties for the third-longest since UM reinstated the program in 1985-86.

HOLDING TEAMS UNDER 100: The University of Miami has always prided itself on playing tough defense. Over the last 16 seasons the Hurricanes have not allowed an opponent to reach the century mark, a streak of 433 games. The last team to reach the 100-point plateau was Miami (OH) on December 27, 1990 in a 101-99 double-overtime victory over UM at the Eastern Airlines Palm Beach Classic.

The last team to score 100 points against the Hurricanes in a non-overtime game was Providence on February 21, 1990, a 101-67 Friar victory at the Providence Civic Center. Miami has not allowed a team to score 100 points at home since Kansas defeated Miami 100-73 on January 10, 1990, a current streak of 236 games.
