Three Hurricanes Advance At USA Track Championships

Carson, Calif. (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami track and field All-Americans Dominique Darden (Harrisburg, Pa.), Charlette Greggs (Miami Northwestern) and Ginou Etienne (Miami Central) all advanced in their respective events at the 2005 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Carson, Calif.
Darden, the ACC and NCAA East Regional Champion in the 400-meter hurdles, placed second in her preliminary heat in a time of 56.20 seconds to qualify for Friday’s semifinals. Darden’s time was the sixth fastest of the preliminary round.
Greggs and Etienne both qualified for Friday’s semifinal of the 400-meters. Etienne placed fifth in her first round heat in a time of 53.64 seconds, while Greggs, the 2005 ACC Champion, finished fifth in her opening round heat in a time of 53.70 seconds.
The semifinals of the 400-meter hurdles are scheduled for Friday at 4:50 p.m. (PT) with the 400-meter semifinals following at 7:00 p.m. (PT).
