April 13, 2005
Coral Gables, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – Head men’s basketball coach Frank Haith announced Wednesday that Goldsboro (NC) Charis Prep forward Jimmy Graham has signed a national letter of intent to attend the University of Miami this fall.
“We are very excited that Jimmy (Graham) has decided to join our program,” says Haith. “He is a physical player with unlimited potential, and we expect him to make an immediate impact in the post for us next season. He is an extremely hard worker who will only get better.”
Graham (6-8, 249) is considered one of the nation’s top front court prospects after averaging 20.7 points, 13.8 rebounds and 4.6 blocks per game in leading Charis Prep to a 29-7 record last season. A Street & Smith honorable-mention All-American, Graham is rated as the No. 60 overall prospect in the nation and the No. 16 power forward by Rivals.com.
Graham is the fourth recruit to sign with Miami. During the early signing period in November the Hurricanes received commitments from 6-6 guard/forward Brian Asbury (South Miami), 6-0 guard Denis Clemente (Miami Calusa Prep) and 6-7 forward Adrian Thomas (Pembroke Pines Flanagan).
