Deem Named ACC Coach of the Year

Coral Gables, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami head women’s track and field coach Amy Deem has been named the 2005 ACC Indoor Track and Field Coach of the Year.
Deem led the Hurricanes to the ACC Indoor Track and Field Championship in their inaugural season in the league. Miami won six of 17 events and recorded 138 points to defeat second-place North Carolina (100 pts) by 38 points.
Miami has now won three consecutive indoor conference titles. The Hurricanes won the BIG EAST Indoor Track and Field Championship in 2003 and 2004. Deem and her staffs were honored as the BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year both seasons.
The Hurricanes are ranked No. 2 in the nation by Trackwire marking the highest ranking in school-history. The NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held March 11-12 in Fayetteville, Ark.
