Feb. 12, 2005
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The 48th-ranked University of Miami men’s tennis team will look for their second-straight win as they host Georgia Southern at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center Sunday at 11 a.m.
The Hurricanes (2-1) downed South Florida, 4-3, by sweeping all three doubles matches and taking three singles matches last Sunday in Tampa, Fla. in their last outing.
Among those victories in singles, was junior Tim Krebs’ – ranked 123rd nationally in singles – straight-set win in the No. 2 slot over USF’s Freddy Barton. Krebs is now 3-0 on the year, including a win at No. 1 singles against Florida Atlantic in the dual season opener.
Georgia Southern (1-3) have lost their last two matches, including a 7-0 decision against Georgia Tech in their last match.
Miami is 2-0 all-time against the Eagles after defeating Georgia Southern, 7-0, last season in Coral Gables.
Admission to Sunday’s match as well as all home matches is free to both students and the general public.
