CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami junior Lauryn Williams has been named the United States Track Coaches Association Athlete of the Week after running world-leading marks in the 100-meters and 200-meters at the Miami Gatorade Invitational on April 10.
Williams, who won gold medals in the 100-meters and 4×100-meter relay at last summer’s Pan Am Games, posted a winning time of 11.01 seconds in the 100-meters. She came back an hour later to cruise to an easy win in the 200-meters with a time of 22.46 seconds. Both her winning times were school, stadium and meet records.
