Coral Gables, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami women’s track and field team travels to Austin, Texas to participate in the 77th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, April 2-3, at Mike A. Myers Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas.

Miami, which has already recorded eight regional and 17 BIG EAST qualifying marks in the opening two meets, looks to continue its strong start this outdoor season.

The Hurricanes are led by seven-time All-American Lauryn Williams (Rochester, Pa.) who this past summer won Gold Medals in the 100-meters and 4×100-meter relay at Pan Am Games, as well as a Silver Medal in the 4×100-meter relay at the World Championships.

The Texas Relays will be the first collegiate outdoor competition for freshman Tabia Charles (Pickering, Ontario) who at the NCAA Indoor Championships became the first Hurricane to earn All-America honors in both the long jump and triple jump.

Several Hurricanes rank among the nation’s leaders in their respective events including senior All-American Kitoya Carter (Miami Northwestern) who has the nation’s top mark in the triple jump (13.28 meters).

Other top individual performances include sophomore All-American Dominique Darden (Harrisburg, Pa.) who ranks fourth in the 400-meter hurdles (57.99), freshman Amy Seward (Virginia Beach, Va.) who ranks 18th in the long jump (5.99 meters/19-08.00) and 19th in the triple jump (12.44 meters), junior Chinela Davis (Haverstraw, N.Y.) who is 20th in the long jump (5.96 meters) and freshman Brenda Faluade (Katy, Texas) who is eighth in the triple jump (12.91 meters).

Miami’s 4×100-meter relay and 4×400-meter relay are also among the nation’s elite. The 4×100-meter relay of Davis, junior Wiande Moore (Spring, Texas), Darden and Williams has the fastest time in the nation this season (44.17), while the 4×400-meter relay of Darden, freshman Ginou Etienne (Miami Central), Carter and Moore rank third in the NCAA (3:34.57).
