Diaz Named Honorable Mention Freshman All-American

Coral Gables, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami guard Guillermo Diaz (San Juan, P.R.) has been named an honorable-mention freshman All-American by Rivals.com.
Diaz, who was named to the 2003-04 BIG EAST All-Rookie team, played in all 30 games this season, making 18 starts, and averaged 11.8 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.3 steals per game. He shot 49.3 percent from the field, 46.1 percent from three-point range, and 70.1 percent from the line.
Diaz recorded 17 double-figure scoring games including three 20-point outings. He was named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Week on December 7th.
