Women's Track Set for Leonard Hilton Memorial

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s track team will travel to Houston, Texas on Jan. 23 to take part in the Leonard Hilton Memorial hosted by the University of Houston at the Yeoman Field House.

No. 13 Miami will look to build on a strong opening weekend that saw the Hurricanes take three first place finished and hit four NCAA qualifying marks at the Florida Intercollegiate Meet in Gainesville, Fla. on Jan. 17.

Sophomore Charlette Greggs (Miami, Fla.), a four-time All-American, will return to action after opening the season in impressive fashion, winning the 200-meters with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 24.32 seconds.

The Hurricanes will also look to freshman Tabia Charles (Pickering, Ontario) who broke her own Canadian Junior indoor record, while automatically qualifying for the NCAA Indoor Championships in the triple jump with a mark of 13.53 meters.

Miami will compete with nine schools, including Huston, Rice, Stephen F. Austin, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, UT-Arlington, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and Texas Southern at the annual event which is slated to begin at 2 p.m. with the men’s weight throw trials.
