Coral Gables, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – Head men’s basketball coach Perry Clark announces the signing of guard Anthony Harris (Chicago, Illinois) to a national letter of intent to attend the University of Miami this fall. Harris selected Miami over Fresno State, Pittsburgh and Memphis.

“I feel Anthony (Harris) is a great addition to our program,” said Clark. “He is a lead guard who can score which really compliments the players we have already signed. His versatility and decision making on the perimeter will really help us.”

Harris (6-2, 170) earned All-Area and honorable-mention All-State honors after averaging 24 points, five rebounds and three assists in leading Whitney Young High School to a 25-4 record and trip to the Class AA Sectional Championship game. Young ended the season ranked ninth in the state by the Associated Press.

Harris is the fifth recruit to sign with UM joining 6-2 combo guard Guillermo Diaz (Miami Christian Academy), 6-6 forward Karron Clarke (Brooklyn, NY/The Winchendon [MA] School), 6-9 forward/center Leonard Harden III (Detroit, MI/Garden City [KS] Community College) and 6-9 power forward/center Anthony King (Durham, NC/Southern Durham High School).
