Miami Hurricanes' Football Locker Auction
The University of Miami will be giving its fans a great opportunity to “OwnA Piece of Hurricane History”. 5 National Championships. 66 All-Americans.2 Heismans. The Hurricanes will be auctioning off all 106 football lockersfrom their Hecht Athletic Center facility starting at 11:30am ET on March 4and concluding at 12:00 noon on March 12. The auction will be held onlineon the Official Site of Hurricane sports, www.hurricanesports.com.
Each locker is 36″ wide x 84″ tall x 24″ deep and made out of Green and Orange laminate. Each locker has its own number which coincides with theeach player’s jersey number. Bids will not be made on a specific player’slocker, but rather on a specific jersey number which has been used byvarious players over the years. For example, locker # 5 (see photograph)has been used by Andre Johnson, Edgerrin James and Lamont Cain.
All are guaranteed authentic lockers from the Miami Hurricanes HechtAthletic Center locker room. Because these lockers have been used for thepast 9 years, there may be scratches, chips, markings, etc. and must beaccepted as is. The locker does not include the player’s name plate orpersonal items and equipment, but it does include the number plate. Allproceeds from this auction will go towards the Football Locker RoomImprovement Project which will begin after the conclusion of Springpractice.
