Canes Roll Over North Carolina A&T, 81-62

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (AP) – Robert Hite led all scorers with 19 points to leadMiami over still-winless North Carolina A&T 81-62 on Monday night.
Miami (7-3) started out sluggish against the Aggies (0-7), falling behind17-8 on a three-pointer by freshman guard Sean Booker at 12:11.
But the Hurricanes responded with a 12-2 run to pull to within 20-19 on anEric Wilkins jumper with 7:46 left in the half, and took a 26-24 lead whenDarius Rice dunked with 4:30 left before halftime.
Miami never trailed again, closing out the first half with a 16-6 run thatsaw freshman Karron Clarke and Hite combine for 10 points. Clarke finished witha career-high 11 points.
North Carolina A&T cut the lead to 49-42 on a Booker layup at 15:19 of thesecond half, but Miami answered with a 10-0 run to put the game out of reach.The Aggies never got closer than 14 points after that.
The Aggies managed season highs in scoring and shooting (42.6 percent)despite starting three walk-ons.
Chris Ferguson led the way for North Carolina A&T with a season-high 16points.
Miami placed five players in double digits. Rice scored 13 points on 4-of-10shooting, with all four of his baskets coming on dunks.
