Hurricanes Deal With Desert

Dec. 29, 2002

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – – The University of Miami football team continued to acclimate itself to the cooler, arid conditions of Arizona Sunday afternoon on the campus of Scottsdale Community in preparation for the 2003 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl against Ohio State.

“It was a good day today, everybody ran around pretty fast and we conditioned today,” Head Coach Larry Coker said. “This will probably be our last day of conditioning. We ran pretty well and everything worked pretty good. It was kind of nice to have the wind because we have to get used to the wind in case we have it on game night.”

Friday night, the No. 1 Hurricanes will meet No. 2 Ohio State at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe in a game that will determine the national championship.

The Hurricanes will continue practice tomorrow from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Practices are closed to the public as well as to the media. Coach Coker and a limited number of players will be available to the media following practice.

Following practice, players and coaches will be available to members of the media on a limited basis.
