Football Set To Face Boston College
Sept. 19, 2002
The University of Miami football team (3-0, 1-0) had its second to last practice at the Greentree Practice Field on Thursday in preparation for this Saturday evening’s BIG EAST meeting with Boston College (2-0, 0-0) at 7:45 p.m. at the Orange Bowl.
The Hurricanes still have to conduct its walk-through practice this Friday.
“It was a good day,” said Head Coach Larry Coker. “It was just a normal Thursday for us.
“We had the two-minute drill at the end and we had a lot of situational type of plays. I think our team is getting back to being healthy. I think we’re fresh and hopefully rested and ready to play.”
Continuing their progression were split end receiver Andre Johnson and fullback Kyle Cobia. Johnson was sidelined for last week’s Temple game after having minor shoulder surgery. Johnson practiced with the No. 1 team throughout the session. Cobia, who had spent the greater portion of the last month resting a knee injury, saw a number of plays with the second team offense.
The Boston College game marks the BIG EAST home opener for the Hurricanes and will be nationally televised on ESPN.
